Holy CRAAP-tastic
As an ELearning Designer and when you are not a Subject Matter Expert, it can be hard to fully perform the CRAAP test. However, I still think that it is a valuable process to go through to determine whether it is worth sharing with your SME. If it fails the CRAAP test or raises too many red flags, then you know it’s likely not the best resource to share. However, if it passes, then there is definitely value in sharing it. Even if it ends up not being a resource that ends up getting used in the course, the process will help acquaint you better with the subject matter as well as what the SME is/is not looking for! So for me, it’s a fantastic (CRAAP-tastic!) first stage for evaluating resources but ultimately, all resources to be used in a course need to be approved by the SME I am working with.
Note: I have shared a link to a doc that contains my CRAAP results as well as a link and screenshot to my padlet comment.
