Today I believe that the students miss each other……..which entails the classroom, the halls, the cafeteria and the general face to face social interaction in society. They aren’t any different than the faculty but they also have the task of achieving good grades which will then enable them to achieve success in the future.  It is our role to ensure they have the tools to achieve success and embrace learning as they would in a f2f environment. With all this in mind I have chosen Bongo and Google docs in concert to give them the feeling of interacting with their team members and actually knowing each other .  In a regular semester with F2F teaching the students can also use these technologies when they can’t meet due to hectic work and class schedules. As opposed to wanting to work alone , they can meet f2f in a virtual environment.  The teams are small (5) so having the ability to communicate virtually as a f2f team can enable them to accommodate difficult f2f meeting schedules. The capability to record the meeting also assists with reviewing the meeting at a later date. As well monitoring by the professor is available. Google docs also provides team documentation and gives the team the capability of collaborating on team documents at any time. As in any team environment a team leader is required with support from the professor.
