It’s Alive
Brainstorming for an asynchronous module development. The learner challenge here is developing an asynchronous module. Many subject matter experts are familiar with teaching a class synchronously whether it’s virtually or in-person. Transforming this content into an asynchronous format where they are not going through content slide by slide can be challenging. My prototype is something I hope to use in the future to help our subject matter experts get into the mindset of the student who will be going through the material without any immediate facilitation.
Considering my past experiences working with subject matter experts, there are times when we would have to revisit a previously developed module because a topic needed to be addressed in greater detail or we needed to split a module into two. With this Padlet, I hope to address the rework required and enable our subject matter experts to take a step back before diving into the content creation.
I plan to implement this at the start of a project and it can be shared prior to the kick-off meeting. I will try this with a couple of projects. I’m aware that Padlet may be hard to navigate if there are long posts and I believe there may be a better tool for collecting these thoughts and ideas.
