Great activity.  I can see the Empathy Maps value in bring incremental volume to the valid business reason for each students value per time spent in the lecture hall for the course.  The Map zones in on the key questions the student would ask regarding the courses relevancy and in getting information and commitment from the Prof/Student relationship.
