The three key characteristics of SOTL that resonated most with me are:

1. Fostering Curiosity through asking ourselves and students interesting questions.  Keeping our minds open to new practices, current research and diverse points of view.
2. Emulating good habits by bringing our expertise, skills and knowledge from both the business world and academic experience as both learners and educators.
3. Reflecting on our practices, learner achievements or challenges and then adapting our methodology accordingly.

 Three Motivations:

• Renewed personal excitement about teaching, learning and greater self-awareness
• Increased student engagement, learning and a broader ability to reach more students
• Stronger overall faculty that values teaching, student learning and working as a cohesive team
