Learning educational technologies can be compared to driving a car, as both activities require specific skills and adaptation to the environment. Just as a driver must master the vehicle’s controls and sensors, education technologists need to familiarize themselves with the technological tools and resources available to promote an effective and meaningful learning experience. In the same way that driving requires attention to road conditions, the use of educational technologies requires adaptation to the context and students’ needs. Furthermore, both driving a car and teaching with the help of technology require practice, constant updating and the ability to make quick decisions. Therefore, yes, there are several similarities in the two processes.
