Hospitality is like driving a car. At its foundation, when driving on the road you need to be aware of your surroundings, other cars, road signs, lights, etc. Hospitality, at its foundation, requires individuals in the industry to understand all necessary rules/regulations for health and safety, you need to understand what your customers want/need and how to provide it, and any particular issues you need to know from customers – continue service, slow down, something is wrong etc.

There are so many different types of vehicles on the road and each requires specific gas, care and maintenance, just as there are many different types of customers who require a particular level of service. A foundational thought in the hospitality industry is that one size does not fit all – one size fits one. Once you understand what is required, the inputs, you can navigate around the type of  service your business will offer meeting the needs of cusotmers.
