Looking for
I used a keyword search to look for some research-related photos for a blog/newsletter that I produce in my capacity as research coordinator. In addition to the sites suggested, I also use https://stocksnap.io/ https://www.pexels.com/ and https://thenounproject.com/ depending on my needs. I am most familiar with Unspalsh and that is usually my go-to, but I also liked exploring some of the other sites suggested, so I liked to a different site below.
In terms of ease of use/navigation, the worst website for me was https://genderphotos.vice.com/ because I wasn’t able to search (or I couldn’t find it if there is a way to search), I had to just scroll through, which made me feel like I was wasting my time. I also didn’t find that the Wiki site provided me with good options for my “research” keyword search term.
The image I chose to link to is this one because I liked the saying: “Research” by astronomy_blog is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 2.0. This saying shows research as an iterative process, which often produces more questions than answers. Additionally, I use this image in my research coordinator-related work often because it shows that research is knowledge…and also because an attribution is not required 🙂
