My Brain-Targeted Teaching & Cultural Equity Professional Learning Network
I was selected as one of the participants in the 2021 Every Learner Everywhere Summer Institute which has a focus on Educational Equity Through Digital Learning. I am engaged in the differentiated instruction track and have developed significant interest in brain-targeted teaching and the creation of more equitable classrooms through culturally relevant neuroeducation. My coach for the institute is fantastic. I’ve created a mindmup of my PLN which is developing from this ongoing virtual event.
In addition to faculty and resources they are sharing, I am also learning from other participants and am tracking resources that are recommended (some for use now, but most for later reading).
There are Twitter accounts, websites, print resources, video links and more represented here – and it’s just the start of a new PLN for me! My own Twitter account (@Get_Engaged) is a mixture of local healthcare, Ontario healthcare, Kingston community, football and other sporting events and material related to St. Lawrence College and my amazing International students in Health Care Administration. It’s a mosaic of content that needs to be streamed more coherently, but to me, it is a beautiful mess. This MindMup (yes, I ended up purchasing a Gold account so that it doesn’t disappear in 6 months – and it isn’t publicly visible), will help keep me focused when it comes to my varied PLN.
