I’ve begun an image slider to hold my metaphors for teaching.  So far I have added two.

The first is a picture of a sherpa. Sherpas are guides. They have been born and raised in the Himalayas. Sherpas will go up a mountain like Mount Everest many times in their lives helping mountain climbers from all over the world make the journey.

The second image is that of a group of learners.  As Paulo Freire said, there is no teaching without learning. A real teacher learns from her students while they learn from her – curiosity is the key ingredient for a learning experience.
