The nugget I was drawn to in this article is focused on gauging students’ understandings at the end of lectures. The author suggests giving time for students to jot down their reflections and responses to the lecture while still in class and on an individual basis. Questions are clear: “What question do you still need answered?” for example.

Once the instructor has gathered all of the responses, they have insight into how to modify their next lecture to capture any information that needs to be highlighted or reviewed.
