When students sign up for my course, they’ve already done some reading and research into what the job entails. They have a bit of a concept about things like how much money they’ll make and what going to work looks like, but it’s hard to get real and straight answers. I try to develop a relationship with my students and invite them to ask me anything about the career path they’ve chosen. I extend this invitation early. I find it builds trust and lays a foundation we can build on.
