For this activity, I am going to include an image on one of my career preparation slides.

I want the image to feature a young professional connecting with someone in an online environment in order to help show what may be expected during a virtual job interview. I normally use Pixabay images for any course related images I have not taken myself. For this activity, I decided to explore some of the other Creative Commons sites that are available.

My students all come to my program from outside of Canada, so it is important to me to ensure all students can identify with people in the images I use (and by extension, with the content of my program). Sometimes this is difficult with limitations of Pixabay, so I was pleased to find the resources on Unsplash. I also looked at some of the images on Gender Extension, but didn’t quite find the right fit there as there were relatively few images to choose from, and none appeared to fit with a job interview. In addition to considering the people in the images, how they are dressed and other visual cues related to tone are important.

I searched terms such as “Interview” and “job interview” and online within business categories.
