For this exercise I found that all of the resources were able to come up with good pictures for our Electronics Engineering Skills course wherein we teach the art of soldering and desoldering.  We teach both Through Hole (TH) and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) types of soldering. We find that students tend to be uncomfortable with the SMT work so we use detailed pictures to explain techniques.  The one I have attached shows not only the device but the tool used to work with SMDs:  The Soldering/Desoldering Tweezers!

This picture is entitled:  Desoldering of a 1210 capacitor using no flux.  It was posted on 21 November 2006 by Aisart on wikimedia.
