SoTL-3 Keys and Motivations
Three keys:
- Asking questions and developing hypotheses about teaching practices
- Collecting data/evidence: this step includes identifying the appropriate methodology)
- Reflection, change, dissemination: reflecting on the teaching practices; making appropriate changes/improvements based on the collected data and evidence; and sharing with and receiving feedback from community, colleagues and students
Three motivations:
- Enhanced student experience, engagement, and outcomes
- Professional development and currency for faculty (ongoing reflection on and improvement of teaching practices)
- Collective discourse and learning among colleagues
