Ethical Concerns

 

Coming from IT, the primary concern would be around security and confidentiality. Participants’ Personal Identifiable Information must be protected. The researchers must have the right protections in place. They would also need informed consent; enduring that participants understand the scope of the study and the utility of the information. 

Another area would be ‘Conflict of Interest’. Are the researchers going to eventually get financial rewards resulting from this study? This might influence the objectivity and integrity of the study. 

Finally the accuracy of the data. Tried and proven data collection methods should be used with transparent analysis with no manipulation of the data. This ensures that the results are duplicate.
