- Systematic inquiry. Research on the practice of teaching and student learning is grounded in the pedagogical questions of the educator, is focused on the educator’s/researcher’s expertise, and is conducted using solid research methods and methodologies.
- Improves teaching practice and impacts student learning. With a focus on student learning, educators can make more informed pedagogical choices to improve student learning.
- Reflective practice. Pedagogical questions arise when educators reflect on challenges around student learning.
