WIIFM – The Workplace Investigation
I have attached a document summarizing how to influence students by showing them “the why” rather than telling them “because you need to do it”. I have found that when a student connects the dots and understands how a specific topic will help them in their career, they tend to ask more questions, take more notes and actively participate in discussions. This in turn makes the class experience better for the student and the teacher. When students ask questions I realize they are plugged in!
