The metaphor of a jigsaw puzzle is a powerful representation of teaching and learning. It captures the multifaceted nature of teaching and learning. Like assembling individual and scattered pieces in jigsaw, students encounter fragments of information and ideas that need to be integrated to gain a complete understanding of a subject. Furthermore, completing a jigsaw puzzle requires problem-solving skills. Students, too, must analyze information and solve problems as they piece together their understanding of a topic. Jigsaw also illustrates the concept of progression, collaboration, and patience in education. Last but not least (Just as jigsaw puzzle to visualize the entire picture) the ultimate goal of education is often to provide students with a holistic understanding of a subject, connecting various pieces of knowledge to form a comprehensive view and emphasizing how each piece is connected to a bigger picture.
