Three Keys Activity

My three key characteristics of SOTL that stood out to me are:
- Asking questions – i.e. how can I further engage my students? What tools will they respond to best?
- Looking for answers – i.e. what will indicate their engagement to me? How will I know?
- Reflecting – were there any biases in my research, did I arrive at the conclusion anecdotally or through actual research methodology, did I accommodate all students
Motivations
- Better student outcomes and assessment scores. – are more students engaged throughout the program, both online and on campus
- Useful data for assessments, program reviews, and accreditation processes. – PAC meetings, having data to present
- Increased reflection on teaching and learning among colleagues. – collaborating with our teaching team and new coordinator
- Stronger overall faculty that values teaching and student learning. – working together for a common outcome
