    I used to teach this note-taking method and have therefore done this exercise many times – both myself and my students have almost always preferred this method over others because it ‘forces’ you to be more selective in the notes you take while also encouraging us to stop and reflect before summarizing key points and ideas. I even use a version of this during team meetings, so it can be applies to both academic and professional contexts rather easily.
