3 SoTL Motivations.

• Improving student understanding and success. – Improved outcomes and assessment scores.
• The feeling that I’m doing my best. Renewed excitement about teaching and learning, and greater self-awareness.
• More opportunities to learn and share from colleagues. Increased reflection on teaching and learning among colleagues.

It was quite affirming to read others’ motivations and see the overlap and similarities with my own. I found it interesting that Anne Pearson’s motivations resonated me with since I’d already commented on her 3 Principles. So, this time, I commented on Amy Taylor’s post as I liked how she articulated “the desire to improve and continually grow as an educator”.
