For me, the greatest reasons to become engaged with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning is most importantly to build
Renewed excitement about teaching  and learning, and greater self-awareness.
It also helps to facilitate
Increased reflection on teaching and learning among my colleagues
and it finally bolsters
Stronger institutional values on teaching and learning.
