  1. Which three experimenter activities did you choose to complete and why? Include the links to your Activity Bank responses.
    • For this activity I chose: UDL Challenge Set, Going Interactive with HP5, and Virtual Field Trips. I picked these because they were tools and ideas that I wasn’t already comfortable with. I use forms, padlet, and mentimeter frequently and so I wanted the chance to learn and play!
  2. Identify and explain three overall lessons learned from experimenting with these three activities. How might you use these activities going forward in your teaching practice?
    • I learned that new tools can be frustrating! It took me an hour or so to really figure out HP5 but I’m so excited to use it in my Blackboard programming now.
    • I also learned that even simple ideas like Building Classroom community can be digital, accessible, and progressive!
    • Lastly, I learned that I can be innovative even more than I thought! The virtual field trips really opened my eyes to opportunity. I will be using this in my multiculturalism class, since we can’t physically travel the world together, we might as well try it digitally!
  3. You were asked to complete at least one experimenter activity on a tablet or a smartphone.
    • Identify the activity completed and on what type of mobile device?
  • I completed the Virtual Field Trip activity on my phone.
    • Identify and explain the advantages and challenges of using this technology tool on a mobile device.
  • This tool was very compatible with my phone and quite easy! It helps that there is no log-in procedure. The drawback is that it doesn’t save content.
    • Comment on how you might plan for an upcoming assignment to be completed on a tablet or a smartphone.
  • I could use this as a starting point, there are plenty of assignments and quizzes that I could do using a mobile device! Unfortunately our LMS, Blackboard, isn’t always mobile device friendly. I’d like to learn how to make it more compatible with mobile devices.
    • Explain the steps you might take in making access to these devices available to all students.
  • Unfortunately our school does not have a tech lending library, but I am fortunate enough to be able to book computer labs when needed. I could also try to incorporate sharing of devices when needed.
