My Learner Challenge: Reaching Students at Point of Need
Part of my role is helping students to develop their research/information literacy skills. I find that, while a workshop at the beginning of a semester will work for some, for others, the information is forgotten. By the time the first research assignment comes due, they are struggling with research. How do I meet students at their point of need and help them develop these skills?
Ideas:
- work with faculty member to get added to their course shell – offer virtual drop in times
- create a simple webpage with curated resources specific to an assignment
- create videos of the research process to be shared with everyone
