One challenge I still struggle to address with my students is about their lack of motivation to learn or get enthusiastic about a course. This is especially true when the course is considered a minor subject to their program. Most students would normally have a hard time connecting the relevance of some courses to their program and thus lacking the motivation to do well in them or the eagerness to learn them. Whenever a learner gets to this mindset, they rarely put an effort to learn the class or even come to it. They would just do the bare minimum and not really pick up anything from the course, which makes me wonder if a student doesn’t really learn anything in a course that would help them in their life despite passing it, is there even a significance in taking/having/going through them? With this epiphany, I make it my mission to ensure that my students would at least have something memorable from the course or learn something they can use in their life.
