I chose the metaphor that teaching is like sculpting.  I think teaching is working with raw ideas to shape and polish thoughts and knowledge to prepare for the field.  I also think like a sculptor, a teacher will find there is much to learn still as each product is unique and different and offers learning in the relationship.
