My Dining Room Table – HRIS Implementation Team
Thinking about a team effort over the past year, I decided to highlight a team effort to implement a new HRIS (Human Resources Information System) at my workplace. It was a true collaboration of US and Canadian HR team members, working closely to ensure we captured the needs of the users and at the same time meeting compliance requirements in both countries.
We had some management at the table, but the team consisted mostly of those that use the HRIS on a daily basis. The communication was by phone, by e-mail, and by video conference. It was great to think about this project from a dining room table perspective. We had great collaboration and we were able to work with individuals as well as entire departments to cover every aspect of this implementation. In as way this seems like a mind map…something that I could draft prior to a project in order to visualize who will be at the table to ensure no one is missing!
