My Metaphor-Hiking Guide
I see myself as a hiking guide. I have been down this path before; I plan and prepare as well as I can; I have experience with some of the issues we may face but there are always unpredictable situations; so I should be comfortable to make decisions, adjust the plan and solve problems on the go.
Students join me with different types and levels of strength, experience, motivation, and expectations. I try to make this journey as enjoyable and beneficial as possible for them. Some of them need more help and information; some enjoy the team spirit; some prefer to be on their own. Some students would like to learn about the plants and places we see on the way, some are more focused on successfully finishing the hike. My role is support them in their journey.
