I see myself as a Travel Guide assisting people along the path of learning by taking them places (course content) and making it personal through story telling (relating my experiences as well as experiences of others) and inviting students to tell their stories.

As I was completing this activity, I was taken back to my first (and so far only) trip to Greece and the first tour stop – Delphi.  The tour guide was an archeology student who brought told us about the history (course content) and made it more real by describing her experiences on “digs” e.g. someone on the using a artefact for their lunch time drink.  I try to capture that same feeling for my students as we share our experiences.

In the attached PDF, I included a picture that represents for me my role as a Travel Guide.
