1. SoTL is the systematic inquiry of learning and applying it to the way a course is taught. It’s more difficult to do this systematically but clearly it is the best approach.
2. SoTL is about inquiry and reflection on your teaching practices and student learning.  I think it is critical that we regularly ask how our teaching practices are supporting student learning.
3. SoTL requires that you ask questions and look for an answer through observation and evidence.  I think this is critical to improving the student experience in our courses.
