Motivations 

• Opportunity for outside funding to support program innovation. As the world does run as a business, I think funding can go a long way in the continual support in SoTL research and learning. 
• Faculty development opportunities. – I think a big barrier preventing educators from asking questions, improving their courses and studying SoTL is the lack of opportunity or funding to be able to develop their own interests/course. 
• Increased diversity in voice and perspective in your pedagogy. I think this can also help students relate more to their learning and help them comprehend/understand abstract concepts if diversity and inclusion is included.
