SOTL on learning outcomes
I’ve focused on whether, when given an assignment in a weekly seminar, the students know which learning outcomes this relates to. The plan would be iterative, wherein I would collect feedback throughout the semester to better understand whether and at what point during the two weeks we focus on a case study they understand why we are doing this case study. I assume it will take more than the first week to analyze the case study, as they will draw some conclusions when reading it over.
I think the “Why” is very important, as it focuses the students and enables them to get more from the assignments.
