I developed the headings for my mind map by using the learning outcomes from the course outline as a guide.  Then drawing from the syllabus, I listed content under each heading that would be covered throughout the semester and meet the requirement of the learning outcome.  I thought that this would give students a clear picture at a glance of what the expectations of learning in the course were and how those expectations would be met.
