Teaching Metaphor
My teaching philosophy is always evolving. We are trying to aim for “guide on the side” teaching approach rather than “sage on the stage.” For my metaphor for teaching and learning, I selected “repetition, repetition, repetition” to foster the guide on the side.” I find that presenting the same information to my students in different ways helps support their learning. To represent this metaphor I selected an image which summarizes this. This image has different colour doors to represent the different learning journeys individuals may take. The different colour represent different ways material can be presented to a student.
