Personally, I’m motivated by continuous improvement.  I like the idea that we can always be a bit better at what we do, and that it’s important to always be learning.

Top 3 Motivations for engaging in SOTL

 

• Improved outcomes and assessment scores. – I would like the students to do well and feel confident.
• Increased reflection on teaching and learning among colleagues. – This is the key to continuous improvement.
• Renewed excitement about teaching and learning, and greater self-awareness. – If we aren’t improving we aren’t moving forward.
