WIIFM (From the perspective of my students taking my Communications: Effective Writing course):

• According to a 2015 survey of job postings in Canada conducted by career site Workopolis, “communications is the clear stand out skill appearing in most job postings” (Workopolis, 2015, p.2)
• The demand for good communication skills crosses a wide range of fields (Healthcare, Sales, Technology, Media, Digital Media, etc.)
• Being able to communicate effectively and clearly is invaluable in both your career and personal life
• Effective and professional communications make for a professional image and a better employee
