The WIIFM (what’s in it for me?) activity is critical to engage students! I have previously framed this as a question to my students, simply asking them, “why should we care about this material?” during lecture, tutorial or laboratory sessions.  The acronym WIIFM also helps me as an instructor when designing my course lectures.  I will definitely continue to keep this acronym in mind when selecting topics to focus on in class and while reflecting about course material.  I have provided a link of some WIIFM for one of my courses.
