– Technology enabled activity planning document = Prototype planning
Hi I am not sure if I did this correctly. I reviewed the tools in the list and I think creating a short video on how to use a specific type of mapping document for students to use to help them with their clinical planning and for organizing the information, would help them sort out and create better study documents. But then when I went to the discussion board design thinking feedback it did not fit – so I discussed my use of the previous online tool I used in class for practice quizzes.
Design thinking feedback = I used the EAQ tool here – I am a bit confused as to whether I am to be now using a different technology.
What worked:
Students enjoyed answering question on the computer and the fact that there were different formats of questions they could access that I am either unable to recreate on our BB system or that are extremely time consuming so not realistic I can create for practice quizzes.
What did not work?
I noticed that some students were taking 30-40 min to complete the quizzes. I encourage them to use their books and really think about their answers. I notice though that some others are only spending minutes completing it. I suspect that they are sharing answers and are not getting the full benefit of the tool and learning opportunity.
What questions do I have?
How can I get the learners to see the value in doing the heavy lifting to support their learning and not just see it as something to check off their to do list. The question formats also provide great preparation for their registration exam.

I will continue to encourage them to put in the time/effort. Every year I have graduates reach out to me because they have failed the registration exam and are looking for help. I wish I could get them to see how important it is to build their foundation to support their success.
